When Vinyl Is the Right Call
Vinyl is usually chosen against wood rather than on its own. These are the situations where it tends to win.
You Are Done Staining
The last fence needed sealing every few seasons and you would rather never do it again. Vinyl needs washing, not refinishing.
Replacing a Wood Fence That Rotted at Grade
Vinyl does not rot at the soil line, though the posts underneath it still have to be set below the frost line.
You Want a Consistent Finish
No knots, no cupping, no boards that weather at different rates across the run.
A Pool or Wet Area Nearby
Constant moisture and splash-out are hard on wood. Vinyl handles that better, and pool enclosures have their own height and gate rules to meet.
Our Premium Vinyl Fencing Selection
Modern vinyl offers incredible versatility in design, from total privacy to classic picket styles.
Vinyl Privacy Fencing
Full-privacy panels close every sightline and use the most material of the vinyl styles, which puts it at the top of the $55-to-$90-per-foot range.
Semi-Privacy Vinyl Fencing
Uses less material than full privacy while still screening the yard — a lower-cost step down within the same $55-to-$90 range.
Vinyl Picket Fencing
An open, boundary-defining style rather than a privacy screen, priced below the full-privacy panels.
Vinyl Post and Rail Fencing
A minimal, open-rail style for marking a line without blocking the view — the lightest-material option in the vinyl lineup.
The GTA Fencing Company Advantage for Vinyl Fences
Vinyl costs more than wood upfront and less to keep — no staining, no board replacement — so what you are really choosing is the total cost over the years you own the fence.
Manufacturer-Certified Installers
Our installers are trained and certified by the vinyl manufacturers we install, so panel setting and post reinforcement match what your product warranty requires.
Industry-Leading Material Warranties
We spec heavier-wall panels and steel or aluminum post reinforcement on gates and tall runs, so the fence resists the cracking and flexing that thin, cheaper vinyl shows in a GTA winter.
Free, No-Obligation Quotes
Your estimate breaks out panel grade, reinforcement, and colour separately, so you can see exactly why one quote costs more than another instead of guessing at the difference.

What Moves a Vinyl Fence Quote
Vinyl looks like a single product from the street. The quote turns on things you cannot see once it is installed.
Panel Grade and Wall Thickness
The wall thickness of the extrusion is the main lever. Thin, cheap panels flex and crack in a GTA winter, and the difference does not show on day one.
Style and Material Used
Full-privacy panels use the most material, semi-privacy and lattice-top less, and post-and-rail least of all.
Post Reinforcement
Gate posts and tall runs take steel or aluminum reinforcement inside the post. On a wide gate that is not optional.
Colour and Gate Count
Anything beyond standard white carries a premium, and gates are priced per gate with their own hardware.
What You Are Paying For in a Vinyl Fence
Vinyl plans at $55 to $90 per foot installed in the GTA. The spread is wider than most materials because the label covers everything from a thin builder-grade panel to a reinforced privacy system.
- Wall thickness and panel grade — the main lever. Thin extrusions cost less and flex more in wind and cold; heavier walls hold their line and resist cracking in a GTA winter.
- Style — full-privacy panels use the most material and sit at the top of the band. Semi-privacy, picket and ranch rail all use less and price below it.
- Reinforcement — gate posts and tall privacy runs often need steel or aluminum inserts. It is not optional on a wide gate, and it is a common difference between two quotes.
- Colour and texture — white is the baseline. Woodgrain, tan and grey finishes carry a premium and can add lead time.
- Height — taller panels need deeper posts and more staging, so the rate climbs with it. Check your municipal maximum before pricing the height you want.
- Grade and soil — slopes, rock and the compacted clay common across Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton add $5 to $15 per foot, because posts take longer to set.
- Site access — tight side yards, stairs, decks and mature landscaping slow a crew down. Hand-digging an inaccessible run adds $8 to $15 per foot.
- Gates — priced per gate, not per foot: $350 to $600 for a single walk gate, $800 to $1,200 or more for a double or driveway gate.
- Old fence removal — taking down and hauling away what is there adds $8 to $18 per foot, plus $3 to $8 where concrete footings have to come out.
- Run length — anything under roughly 60 feet carries $5 to $10 per foot more, because mobilization, travel and disposal spread over fewer feet.

Vinyl Pricing Compared With Wood
Treat those as planning bands rather than a firm price. Vinyl costs more up front than pressure-treated wood and less to keep — no staining, no board replacement — so the comparison depends on how long you plan to own the fence.
Our wood-versus-vinyl comparison works that trade-off through with GTA numbers.

Low-Maintenance Vinyl FAQs
Common questions about our low-maintenance vinyl services in the Greater Toronto Area.
The main trade-offs are a higher upfront cost than basic wood, fewer repair options if a panel is damaged (sections are usually replaced rather than patched), and a manufactured look that some homeowners weigh against natural wood grain. Quality also varies, so thin, low-grade vinyl is the main thing to avoid.
Quality vinyl does not. Higher-grade vinyl uses thicker walls, UV-stable colour, and wood-grain or textured finishes that look substantial up close. The cheap appearance people worry about comes from thin, hollow, low-grade panels, which is why material grade matters more than the material itself.
Modern vinyl is made with UV inhibitors that strongly resist fading, and darker colours have improved a lot. Some very gradual lightening can occur over many years of direct sun, but quality coloured vinyl holds its appearance far better than older products did. We use UV-stable materials on our installations.
