Fast and Reliable Fence Repair in the Greater Toronto Area
GTA Fencing Company repairs fences for homeowners and businesses across the Greater Toronto Area — failed posts, broken panels, storm damage, leaning sections, and sagging gates. A targeted repair is often the fastest way to get years more out of a fence that is otherwise sound. Send photos of the damage and we will tell you what it needs before anyone visits.

When a Repair Is the Right Answer
Most fences we are called out to do not need replacing. These are the situations where a repair holds.
One or Two Posts Have Failed
The panels are sound and the line is straight apart from where the post gave way. Replacing the post buys years.
Storm or Impact Damage to a Section
A short run down after wind or a vehicle, typically a couple of panels and the posts between them, with the rest untouched.
A Gate That Drags or Will Not Latch
Often the gate post rather than the gate. Hardware alone will not hold if the post has moved.
You Need the Property Secured Now
A section is down and the yard is open. The immediate job is closing the gap, and the longer-term plan can follow.
Common Fence Problems We Repair
Our experienced crews can handle any type of fence damage, large or small.
Leaning or Broken Fence Post Repair
We cut out or pull the failed post, clear the footing, and reset a new post in concrete below the frost line.
Damaged or Missing Board/Panel Replacement
A single broken or missing panel is matched to your existing material and finish as closely as the fence's age allows.
Gate Post Replacement and Realignment
We rehang and realign a sagging gate, replace hinges or latch, or reinforce the gate post — whichever is actually causing the drag.
Storm and Impact Damage Repair
Most storm damage is a short section — typically two to four panels and the posts between them — repaired without touching the rest of the run.
Why Call Us for Your Fence Repair?
Most calls we get need a repair, not a replacement — we tell you which one yours is before we quote it, and we do not scope a replacement onto a fence that only needs a repair.
Fast Response for Urgent Repairs
Send photos of the damage and we will tell you what it needs before anyone visits — a close-up on the damage and one shot of the whole run is usually enough to start.
Quality Materials and Workmanship
A single broken panel gets matched to your existing material and finish as closely as the fence's age allows, rather than a mismatched patch that stands out.
Honest Repair vs. Replacement Assessments
We assess the full condition of the fence before quoting. If a repair will hold, we quote the repair — that is the usual answer. If the damage scope genuinely means replacement is better long-term value, we'll tell you clearly and explain why.

What Moves a Repair Quote
Repairs are quoted on what actually failed, which is why photographs get you a number faster than a description does.
How Many Posts Are Involved
A single failed post is a contained job. Several soft at grade along the same run usually means replacement is the better long-term spend.
Whether the Footing Comes Out
If the post failed at grade the footing usually comes with it. A sound footing under a good post can sometimes be fixed without pulling either.
Matching the Existing Fence
Sourcing boards, panels or mesh to match an older fence takes longer than building new, and an exact match is not always available.
Access and Urgency
Tight access slows the work, and a section that has to be made safe immediately is scheduled differently from planned work.

Single Posts, Single Panels and Small Sections
The small repairs we are called for most often, and what each one involves:
- One leaning or rotted post — cut out or pull the old post, clear the footing, reset in concrete below the frost line
- A single broken or missing panel — matched to the existing material and finish as closely as the fence age allows
- A short storm-damaged section — usually two to four panels and the posts between them
- A sagging gate — rehang, realign, replace hinges or latch, or reinforce the gate post
- Loose or pulled rails on an otherwise sound wood fence
- Torn or sagging chain-link mesh, and bent top rail
- Fence post repair and replacement as a standalone job
Common Fence Problems We Repair
We assess and repair structural fence damage, including:
- Leaning fence posts
- Rotten wood posts
- Broken or missing panels
- Loose rails
- Sagging or misaligned gates
- Hinges, latches, and gate hardware
- Storm-damaged fence sections
- Damaged chain-link sections
- Concrete footing failures
- Partial fence failures
Why Fences Lean
Common causes include:
- Rot near ground level
- Shallow or failed concrete footings
- Soil movement
- Freeze-thaw movement
- Wind exposure
- Heavy gates pulling on weak posts
- Poor drainage
- Age and repeated repairs

Repair or Replace?
Repair is the right call when the damage is limited — a few posts, rails, panels, or a gate — and the rest of the structure is sound. That covers most of the calls we get, and it is the cheaper outcome for you.
Replacement becomes the better value when multiple posts are failing along the run, the wood is rotted through rather than weathered, the panels no longer align, or the fence no longer meets what the property needs. A useful rule of thumb: when a repair quote approaches half the cost of replacing the same run, replacement usually wins on a ten-year view.
We give you the assessment either way, and we do not scope a replacement onto a fence that only needs a repair.
Old Fence Removal and Disposal
Some repairs reach the point where patching no longer pays off and removing the old fence is the better call. When that work is in your quote, we assess what is standing, take out the spent panels and posts, and hand back a clear line ready for a fresh run or targeted replacement.
- Removing panels too far gone to repair
- Cutting out or pulling failed posts
- Dealing with stubborn concrete footings
- Clearing and squaring up the fence line
- Scheduling material delivery and disposal
- Helping you decide where repair still makes sense

Send Photos of the Damage
The fastest way to get a fence repair quote is a couple of photos — one close up on the damage, one showing the whole run. Tell us the city and roughly how old the fence is, and we will come back with what it needs. If the assessment shows replacement is the better spend, we will quote that too.
